This post shows you the 8 Meaningful Push Present Ideas for New Moms. Whether you’re looking for a meaningful push present for your wife, sister, or best friend, you’re gonna find some pretty interesting ideas here!
As I like gifts that tell a story and don’t necessarily break the bank, I really am a fan of small, meaningful push presents. I would hate the fact that my loved ones spent hundreds of dollars on shiny bling just because.

I know the occasion can justify the spending, but really, you can’t put a price tag on such a life-changing experience.
However, since we humans tend to be sentimental, we often like to materialize what we feel. So, something shiny, tiny, and beautiful would be a nice gift to have. Something we’re gonna wear, use, or remember.
1 Beautiful Jewelry With a Birthstone
I adore jewelry and like wearing gold and gold-plated stainless steel that will last me a lifetime.
I like minimalistic (and shiny) things, so I always save a little bit extra and buy 18k or 24k gold from my local jewelers.
Now, for some context, the only gold jewelry items I own are:
- my wedding band
- my engagement ring
- a tiny gold necklace (a gift from my maid of honor for my wedding)
- a pair of golden hoops I bought for myself from my first big promotion bonus paycheck
- a pair of tiny pearl earrings I got from my parents when I started university
I am 35 years old while writing this, and all 5 jewelry items cost less than $100-200 each. That’s just the person I am. And while I’m not crunchy, frugal, or anything like that, I just hate how we, as a society, overconsume and measure everything in gifts, money, and material value.
So, back to push present ideas! Having a tiny piece of jewelry with your or your baby’s birthstone is an amazing idea!
I really love pendants, bracelets, and earrings. You can shop by birthstone (choose the month your baby is born or your own birth month), or you can shop by meaning, like courage, strength, resilience, empathy… whatever you need the most at that time.
With a piece of jewelry as a push present for mom, you can always have a reminder of the journey you’ve been on and the courage and love that brought you here with your wonderful baby!
I suggest you visit your local shops, find something durable, and definitely snoop around for inspiration to get something the mom will love!
2 A New Coffee Machine (But Only if You Need One)

Now, hear me out. I know that push presents are supposed to be shiny and whatnot, but after 9 months of reduced caffeine intake and morning sickness, maybe the new mom would appreciate a new coffee machine!
Again, not everyone’s love language is a gift.
And not everyone believes in push presents.
But I’m writing this for those of you who do (and myself, haha).
So, if your wife, sister, or friend – aka mom-to-be is a coffee addict, then a nice new coffee machine with some new coffee can be an ideal gift!
I like the idea of pairing this with some custom-made coffee cups that will remind her of this amazing time!
3 A Favorite Book Series

There’s a children’s book collection that I received as a gift from my mom when I was young. It’s about six girls who live in a huge house and have a dog and a cat, and each of them has unique characteristics and hobbies. They were originally published in the 1980s in French, and the author’s name is Rose Selarose. They have the most beautiful illustrations in the world.
Thanks to my mom, they are well-preserved and barely damaged, so I’m going to give them to my daughter and make sure to preserve them as well.
But while I was browsing these books and trying to find them online (btw they are super rare and impossible to find), I realized just how precious and rare some books are.
So if the new mom is a book lover, a super rare and vintage book series can be a perfect gift for her!
Anything that she wants, or a limited edition and collectible series, is a perfect present for book lovers.
Btw, I don’t think you should get any books for the baby (unless that’s her favorite series), as push presents are all about the mom. She will have a whole life of, unfortunately, others putting the baby first and then the mom, so in this case, only buy something for her!
4 Unique Home Decor Items That She Wants
There’s this home decor shop called Kare Design that I adore! It’s a bit pricey, but my husband and I love absurd and whimsical decor and love browsing their section.
They also have an outlet section where you can score some bargains.
If the mom-to-be likes home decor and design, then maybe getting her a monumental piece for her desk or your living room can be a good idea. I’m gonna leave a few examples that I like here so you can see what I’m talking about. From a colorful bunny statue to a large golden beetle, all the way to a gorgeous female guardian angel, you can find something interesting.
5 A Painting
Paintings are amazing and a beautiful way to get something gorgeous and meaningful that holds so much value!
Maybe there’s a reproduction she would like or something she saw in a gallery.
Nowadays, there are amazing artists on TikTok who take orders based on a story you want to tell.
This can be a perfect push present for a mom-to-be!
I know that I have always dreamed of a scene from a book, where a woman moves countries and starts working at the local bakery by the sea. I vividly remember how the author described the bakery, the scenery, the mountains and cliffs, how the concrete around the benches on the promenade looked rough because of the sea salt, and how the trees looked more dark blue than dark green. I was reading that book on a really nice vacation, and I would love to have someone paint that for me!
You can start looking for new and upcoming artists on TikTok and support them by ordering an original and having a one-of-a-kind gift for the new mom.
Is there a scene from your favorite vacation that she adores? Maybe a place in your hometown that she loves going to? Sometimes, the artists will have amazing ideas and help you decide on the painting! It’s deeply personal and really shows how much you care about her.
6 Something From Your Favorite Place That You Visited

I got my engagement ring from a local jeweler in Greece on the most beautiful Greek island, Lefkada.
It was the second time my husband and I visited that island, and we were sitting in a café watching the sunset, talking about how we could spend the rest of our lives like this.
Then we realized we should spend the rest of our lives like this. In love, with eternal summer in our souls, enjoying the present and appreciating the uncatchable beauty of nature and each other so much that we couldn’t imagine any other life.
At that time, we had been together for 3 years (we’ve been together for 10 years now as I’m writing this, and I’m 7 months pregnant!).
But let me tell you, that small engagement ring (gold, simple stone, less than $120) is something I will cherish forever!
Now think! Would the mom-to-be appreciate a push present from your honeymoon location? Maybe a unique piece of jewelry or a bag?
Were you traveling to Europe and visiting some lovely places, where she was obsessing over something in a boutique? Go to Google Maps, find that store, and see how you can arrange shipping.
The thought alone, and remembering what she liked, will be a gift in itself. Not to mention how she’ll feel fancy and special when she receives a unique and meaningful present like that.
7 Tech Gadgets or a Fitness Thing

A word of caution: do this and consider this only and only if the mom-to-be talked about it, told you about it, browsed these things online, or has a specific item she wants.
Do not, I repeat, do not get her anything fitness-related if she hasn’t spoken about it.
Think twice and ASK her if necessary, but don’t get her anything that says, “I think you should lose weight.” If you do, then you’re really a jerk.
However, again, from personal experience, a couple of years ago, when I was working like crazy and being pretty inactive, I really wanted a walking pad. After months of research and going back and forth, my husband was the one who said, “Let’s get you this one, it’s really good and has the best reviews,” and it could fit into our small apartment.
I have to rest during this pregnancy, and I can’t exercise, but as soon as I recover from giving birth and my doctor tells me I can start exercising, I’m gonna go back to my walking pad!
Walking gives me so much energy, and walking at home is so much better than walking in the gym. First of all, I can do it without dressing fancy (read: presentable) and even with super dirty hair.
If you think that a walking pad is not a good idea, maybe research home Pilates sets? That could be something really useful. Again, only if the mom-to-be talked about it and said that she would love this.
Another thing that came to my mind is a new smartwatch with a customizable bracelet or at least two bracelets that can look pretty fancy and pretty cool!
A smartwatch doesn’t necessarily have to be necessarily fitness gear. It can serve other purposes, but counting steps could be something that she likes.
Another idea is the Oura Ring, but you have to talk to her about it and choose the style and size together.
New noise-canceling headphones can also be a great gift (for the witching hour) and for her exercise routine.

When You’re Buying Something Super Practical, You Need to Balance…
You really need to balance it out and get something sentimental when you’re buying something practical! Now, you don’t need to get two push presents, but if you’re getting something super useful, then make sure to include something that tells her how you feel and how much you appreciate her.*
Here are some ideas for sentimental and romantic gifts that you can pair with practical stuff:
- A stack of letters for every week postpartum that you wrote for her to open on, let’s say, Saturday mornings when she has her coffee, where you tell her how much you appreciate everything she’s done and how awesome she is. You can create a game and say, “It’s the mailman,” and deliver her a letter and a coffee. You can do this for a couple of months.
- A small pendant with her and the baby’s initials
- Coupons for special date nights and outings to her favorite places (coffee shops, cake shops, favorite parks), where you give her a whole jar of custom-made coupons and make sure she has a blast when you all go there with your baby in a stroller
- If she’s a fan of journaling, get her a new journal and leave hidden messages inside that tell her she’s an amazing mom and a wonderful person
8 Something For Her Hobby
If you have a crafty wife, then you can get her something to support her hobby!
If she’s a fan of sewing or would like to learn, then a sewing machine could be the right gift! Get her a digital one (like Brother) that has lots of online tutorials.
If she likes to cook and is a recipe maker or creator, get her something huge for her kitchen! You can even get her a Spice Village from Lenox if that’s something she’s into. But also think kitchen gadgets and appliances.

If she’s a content creator, maybe a new camera will work.
Or a new painting kit, or something else she’s been wanting to have.
Along with all of these things for her hobbies, you need to get her FREE TIME, otherwise, all these gifts are going to cause so much guilt.
So, how do you give your wife more FREE TIME as a push present?
- Get independent and take care of yourself. Don’t ask, “Where are my things?” or “How often should I vacuum?” Don’t even announce that you’re gonna vacuum (unless you’re about to wake the baby). Just do it.
- Take care of the house chores and take over the mental load of when you need to do laundry, turn on the dishwasher, take out the trash, go grocery shopping, etc.
- Take over baby appointments and doctor’s visits. Organize a shared calendar (use Google Calendar and schedule them all) and then invite your wife so you both receive notifications.
- Handle visitors, family, friends, and if your wife approves of having visitors, don’t let her do anything (like preparing coffee or appetizers). Do everything yourself.
