8 Floral Baby Shower Ideas With Whimsical Decor, Food, and DIY Details

This post shows you 8 floral baby shower ideas with the dreamiest decor, delicious food, thoughtful party favors, and charming DIY details, perfect for celebrating your little blooming baby!

Floral baby showers are a timeless favorite. They’re perfect for spring or summer, and if you love flowers or gardening, this theme was made for you.

While floral themes are often used for baby girls, a few of these ideas can work beautifully for boys, too.

I wanted this post to feel extra special, so I included some of the most magical flower-inspired girl names like Rose, Violet, and Daisy, and shared how to throw a shower that honors each one.

There are so many sweet details to dive into, so let’s get started!

1 Boho Garden Party Baby Shower

Boho Garden Party Baby Shower
  • Earthy, relaxed boho vibe with wildflowers and macrame
  • Picnic-style seating, soft throw pillows, woven rugs
  • Flower petal confetti, soft pinks, creams, sage green
  • Mini sandwiches, lemonades in mason jars
  • Dress code for mom: flowing white dress, barefoot optional, flower crown

This is such a dreamy and relaxed baby shower theme, perfect if you’re a boho mom! Boho baby shower ideas usually include lots of earthy details, wildflowers, and a soft, natural vibe. That’s why it can work for both boys and girls!

What I love most about boho baby shower themes is the picnic-style setting. You can have a picnic in your backyard with low wooden tables, throw pillows, and a woven rug laid on the grass, or even organize something like that on your balcony!

But the entire theme will work great in the comfort of your living room as well.

Invitation Ideas:

  • A Boho Baby Is on the Way
  • Join Us for a Garden Party to Welcome Baby
  • Peace, Love, and a Little One on the Way
  • Wildflowers, Sunshine, and a Baby Shower

Thank You Note:

  • Thanks for Adding Joy to Our Little Boho Bloom!

When it comes to table settings, you should go with linen napkins and mismatched vintage glassware that you can buy secondhand or at a garage sale.

For the centerpiece, I’m always thinking macrame decor, as it’s absolutely 100% boho. Hang it behind the main table and choose soft pink, creamy beige, and the super popular sage green. Even dusty blue or gray hues can work well, as long as they’re combined with natural fabrics and soft textures.

When it comes to extra decoration, I love the idea of dried flower petals sprinkled across the table and picnic blankets.

Foods and drinks should be healthy, light, and easy! Mini sandwiches and charcuterie boards filled with deli meats, fruits, cheeses, and olives are perfect.

Drinks can be served in mason jars with lace and include lemonade, homemade iced tea, and mojito mocktails.

Dress code for mom: a flowy soft white dress, barefoot if you’re in the grass, and a flower crown to complete the look.

2 Secret English Garden Baby Shower Ideas

Secret English Garden Baby Shower Ideas
  • Classic floral elegance, high tea aesthetic
  • White tablecloths, tiered trays, fine china, or lookalikes
  • Arches or pergolas with climbing roses and vines
  • Scones, finger sandwiches, and a tea station
  • Dress code for mom: floral midi dress, pearls, or vintage accessories

If you love a romantic vibe, then a Secret English Garden baby shower is pure magic.

This theme is elegant and has a certain quiet charm, like stepping into an English garden full of flowers.

Invitation Ideas:

  • Join Us in the Garden to Celebrate Baby
  • A Secret Garden Party for Our Growing Family
  • Tea, Treats, and Tiny Toes—Celebrate With Us

Thank you note:

  • Thanks for Adding a Little Grace to Our Garden Party!

For the table setting, you’ll need white tablecloths and real fine china if you have it (or can borrow it).

Mismatched secondhand china can also work well, as long as it’s flowery and elegant. You should also get tiered trays with finger foods and everything you need for a proper high tea.

For the main photo backdrops, you can rent or DIY a flower arch or pergola covered in roses or wisteria.

When I was in my twenties, English rose aesthetics were all the rage! We watched British TV shows, wore florals, and everything was pastel. This was pre-Tumblr, before we jumped into indie sleaze, but you can just imagine how obsessed we were with roses, flowers, tea, teacups and tea sets, floral dresses, and lace.

So for an English garden baby shower, I’m thinking lots of lace, floral china, cute pastel flower napkins, and the best finger food you can imagine.

The food should be simple and sweet: scones with jam and cream, cucumber sandwiches, and a tea station with a few different types of sandwiches, including lobster, cheese, and ham croissants, and liver pâté on bread.

When it comes to sweets, you have to include custard cream scones and macarons.

Dress code for mom: a soft floral midi dress with pearls or vintage accessories. Add a loose updo or soft curls, and you’ll feel like you stepped right into Bridgerton.

3 Baby in Bloom Baby Shower Ideas

Baby in Bloom Baby Shower Ideas
  • Everything floral: invitations, signage, cupcake toppers
  • DIY flower crown station
  • “Watch me bloom” or “blooming soon” signs
  • Fresh bloom garlands for tables and the photo wall
  • Dress code for mom: anything floral with soft curls and blush makeup

Unlike an English garden baby shower that’s toned down and pastel, Baby in Bloom calls for more vibrant tones, or at least that’s how I imagine this baby shower theme!

A Baby in Bloom shower is the best excuse to go all out with florals. Use fresh, blooming flowers and set up signs like “Watch Me Bloom” or “Blooming Soon” near the main table or entryway to tie it all together.

Invitation Ideas:

  • She’s Blooming With Love (and a Baby!)
  • A Shower Full of Flowers and Joy
  • Celebrate With Us as Our Baby Blossoms

Thank You Note:

  • Your Love Helped Us Bloom Brighter!

For centerpieces, you can choose seasonal flowers and fresh garlands to line the tables. Add a photo wall with mixed (and budget-friendly) greenery and a few fresh flowers for extra charm.

When it comes to food, go with a mix of different sandwiches, sweet and savory croissants, simple fruit skewers, and a cake topped with edible flowers.

Drinks should include plenty of fruit juices and easy mocktails. I love making colorful lemonade by mixing honey, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and blended fruit: raspberries for pink, blueberries for purple, and celery with basil for green. Serve it all in big glass lemonade dispensers!

Now, when it comes to activities and games, I’m not the best at this part as most games feel kind of awkward to me, but I love anything that involves talking, sharing stories, or getting creative. DIY stations are my favorite!

For a Baby in Bloom shower, I think a DIY flower crown station is a must. You can grab a bunch of cheap faux flowers, pearls, floral wire, and ribbons in different colors. Guests can make their own crowns, hang out, and leave with a wearable keepsake that’ll look amazing in the photos!

4 Enchanted Fairy Baby Shower Ideas

Enchanted Fairy Baby Shower Ideas

  • Fairy wings for guests, dried flowers, and mushroom accents
  • Mini cupcakes, pastel macarons, petal-topped cookies
  • “Wishes for Baby” scroll station or fairy dust jars
  • Dress code for mom: tulle dress, fairy-inspired hair, soft glitter

If you’ve ever dreamed of stepping into a magical forest, this baby shower theme is for you. An Enchanted Fairy Baby Shower feels whimsical and soft, with twinkly fairy lights, moss-covered accents, and the sweetest woodland details.

Invitation Ideas

  • A Little Fairy Is on the Way
  • Sprinkle Some Magic, a Baby’s Coming Soon
  • Wings, Wands, and a Bundle of Joy
  • Welcome to the Enchanted Baby Shower
  • A Fairy-Tale Celebration for Our Little One

Thank You Note:

  • Thanks for Making Our Day Sparkle!

Decorate your table with moss runners, dried flowers, tiny mushrooms, and bits of wood or bark for that fairy tale forest feel. You can even hand out fairy wings for guests to wear, which makes for such cute photos and a fun memory.

When it comes to food, go for mini tea sandwiches with cucumber, egg salad, or smoked salmon bites. Add some mini quiches, savory tarts, and stuffed mushrooms.

You can also have caprese skewers and veggie cups with hummus. Serve everything on wooden boards and try to use rustic elements like bark trays, moss accents, and flower decorations.

When it comes to drinks, go for magical and whimsical drinks like lavender lemonade and elderflower spritzes.

You can create a DIY tea station with herbal iced teas like hibiscus and chamomile.

For the dessert table, go with mini cupcakes topped with flowers, pastel macarons, and sugar cookies with edible petals. Everything should feel light, playful, and just a little magical.

Do you know how in Sleeping Beauty there were the good fairies Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, who were Princess Aurora’s guardians and fairy godmothers? And they each blessed her with a special and unique talent or virtue. Well, you can ask your guests to do the same!

I love the idea of a “Wishes for Baby” scroll station. Leave out small rolled-up papers, pretty pens, and a jar or fairy box for guests to drop in their wishes or advice. You could also do tiny jars of glittery “fairy dust” as a favor or just for fun.

Dress code for mom: a soft tulle dress, loosely braided hair or romantic waves, and a touch of shimmer. Think soft glitter on your cheeks or eyelids, and a flower crown or delicate clips to tie it all together.

5 Whoopsie Daisy Baby Shower

Whoopsie Daisy Baby Shower
  • Bright, playful daisy theme in white and yellow
  • Daisy cookies, mini lemon tarts, daisy cupcake toppers
  • Daisy garlands, paper fans, sun-shaped balloons
  • Activities like “Name the Flower” baby game
  • Dress code for mom: yellow sundress or white linen with a daisy hair clip

This daisy-themed baby shower is bright, playful, and full of sunshine. It’s the perfect vibe if you want something light, sunny, and fun for your Daisy girl.

Invitation Ideas:

  • A Little Daisy Is on the Way

  • Baby in Bloom: A Whoopsie Daisy Shower

Thank You Note:

  • Thanks for Helping Our Garden Grow With Love!

Decorate with white and yellow as your main color palette, and add daisy garlands, paper fans, and even a few sun-shaped balloons to make it feel like a warm summer day.

When it comes to food, serve a big bowl of chicken salad in daisy-shaped bowls and make some deviled eggs with a sprinkle of paprika or dill. Set them out on pretty plates with daisy prints to tie everything together.

I also love the idea of mini cheese and spinach pinwheels or puff pastry bites.

For drinks, lean into citrusy, bright flavors that match the vibe. Sparkling lemonade with lemon wheels and mint is a must, and you can serve it in clear mason jars or glass dispensers with floating daisies (real or edible). Or go with a lemon basil mocktail with a splash of honey.

For the dessert table, include daisy cookies, mini lemon tarts, and cupcakes topped with daisy-shaped frosting or toppers. You can also serve lemonade with lemon slices and paper straws for a sweet, matching touch.

One activity idea I love is “Name the Flower,” where guests guess the names of different blooms from pictures or real flowers. It’s easy, fun, and fits the theme perfectly without needing a lot of setup.

Dress code for mom: a sunny yellow sundress or white linen outfit with a daisy hair clip.

6 A Little Honey on the Way Baby Shower

A Little Honey on the Way Baby Shower
  • Honeybee theme with gold, white, and soft pastels
  • “Sweet as can bee” banner, honeycomb wall backdrop
  • Honey-flavored treats: honey cake, tea with honey, mini jars as favors
  • Bee bingo or “buzzing baby names” game
  • Dress code for mom: gold accessories, soft neutral tones

Stick to a color palette of soft pastels, gold, and creamy white. Hang a “Sweet as Can Bee” banner above the main table or dessert station, and make a honeycomb backdrop with hexagon cutouts for easy setup.

There are so many cool options for a Honey Baby Shower!

Here’s what I’m thinking:

  • Mommy-to-Bee
  • Sweet as Can Bee
  • A Little Honey Is on the Way
  • What Will Baby Bee? for a gender neutral baby shower and gender reveal baby shower!

And for party favors, thank you notes, you can go with “Thanks for Buzzing By“.

For a honey bee-themed baby shower, foods go with simple chicken skewers served on plates with bee prints. Then get honeycomb trays to serve cheese and crackers.

baked brie with honey for a honey baby shower
source: Pinterest

You can also serve baked brie with honey and walnuts and some crispy bread! Then, for sandwiches, go for simple tea sandwiches with cream cheese and cucumber, and then ham and honey mustard ones.

For drinks, you can’t go wrong with honey lemonade, regular and sparkling, decorated with lemon slices and some mint. Whenever I make honey lemonade, I always add lots of freshly grated ginger as it tastes amazing!

Then you can always go for ginger beer mocktails with honey, lemon, and orange juice. Serve them in large glass pitchers with edible flower ice cubes!

Don’t forget to use bee-themed straws, yellow cocktail decorations, and bee-shaped glass markers or charms.

As a main dessert, you have to make a classic moist honey cake and decorate it with bees and honey! Or make a honey cake with tangy cream cheese frosting. This theme also calls for cupcakes and sugar cookies!

As for activities, try a game of Bee Bingo or something like “Buzzing Baby Names,” where guests list as many baby names as they can, starting with the letter B or names inspired by nature.

For party favors, go with mini honey jars and healthy honey granola, combined with some natural honey soap and bath bombs!

Dress code for mom: soft neutral tones with gold accessories.

7 Violet Baby Shower Ideas

Violet Baby Shower Ideas
  • Inspired by the name Violet, or the color violet
  • Purple and lavender color palette, violets and lilacs for decor
  • Violet lemonade, ube cupcakes, purple macarons
  • Violet-scented candles or essential oils as favors
  • Dress code for mom: lavender dress, matching floral hairband

This one is a special Violet baby shower for all the moms who are naming their baby girls Violet! It’s a floral baby shower theme in a dreamy palette of lavender, deep violet, and lilac.

Invitation Ideas:

  • A Little Violet Is on the Way
  • Blooming With Love for Baby Violet
  • Baby in Bloom: Celebrating Our Violet
  • A Lovely Day for a Little Violet

Thank You Note:

  • Thanks for Making Our Day So Sweet

Since violets are pretty hard to find, I suggest using a lot of paper flowers and simply adding in plenty of other purple blooms, including lavender. It’s perfect for mason jar decorations and adds a whimsical touch!

When it comes to decorations, go with violet paper napkins, white tablecloths with lavender accents, and floral plates that fit the theme. For the centerpiece, you can create a mix of fresh and artificial flowers and decorate everything with violet ribbons.

For food, aim for elegant finger foods and something hearty, like simple burgers or sliders served on violet plates. I love the idea of chicken salad served in small flower-shaped bowls that guests can refill whenever they like.

ube pancakes for violet baby shower
source: Pinterest

As for finger foods, I suggest croissant sandwiches with ham and cheese or brie and fig jam. If you want to go all in on purple foods, you can make ube pancakes or serve beet or purple hummus with veggie sticks and decorate with blueberries to match the color scheme.

You can also set up a charcuterie board with grapes, blueberries, goat cheese, blue cheese, feta, and cheddar, plus plenty of fruit and garlic bread.

For drinks and desserts, serve blueberry lemonade or grape or blackberry spritzers. They look gorgeous, especially in clear glasses with floating berries.

For dessert, go with blueberry cheesecake or berry-topped mini cheesecakes. And don’t forget the purple macarons!

As a take-home favor, violet-scented candles, essential oil rollers, or handmade soaps make a lovely and practical gift. I also love the idea of flower-pressed bookmarks that you can personalize with your guests’ names.

Dress code for mom: a lavender dress with a matching floral headband or hair clip.

8 Rose Baby Shower Ideas

Rose Baby Shower Ideas
  • Inspired by the name Rose, or a love for roses and vintage romance
  • Blush pink, cream, red, or soft peach color palette with fresh and faux roses for decor
  • Rosewater lemonade, rose-flavored macarons, cupcakes with petal toppers
  • Rose-scented candles, lip balms, or floral bookmarks as party favors
  • Dress code for mom: blush or cream dress, delicate jewelry, rosy makeup with a glow

A rose-themed baby shower is romantic, classic, and full of elegance. It’s perfect if you’re

naming your baby Rose, or just loving roses in general.

Depending on your favorite type of rose, this baby shower theme can go in many different color palettes. There’s the classic blush pink, but it could also be red, creamy white, yellow, or even orange.

Invitation Ideas:

  • A Little Rose Is on the Way
  • Stop and Smell the Baby Rose
  • Everything’s Coming Up Roses
  • A Baby in Full Bloom
  • Welcoming Our Sweet Rosebud

Thank You Note:

  • Thanks for Helping Our Little Rose Grow

For decorations, you’ll definitely want fresh roses as a centerpiece, then fill in with faux roses and matching bows to carry the theme throughout.

For the tables, it would be amazing if you could find vintage lace runners or anything with delicate floral prints. Scatter rose petals across the table and look for mismatched rose-patterned plates or anything that gives a soft, vintage feel.

Rose-scented candles help set the mood and make the space smell beautiful. You can also place a single long-stem rose at each seat or tie mini bouquets with ribbon for an extra-lovely detail.

For drinks, serve rose water lemonade or a sparkling rose mocktail in coupe glasses. Add edible rose petals or freeze petals in ice cubes for a subtle wow effect.

Even though this theme calls for delicate foods, I really think we should go beyond just small bites. Maybe I’m associating it with La Vie en Rose, but somehow all the food that comes to mind for this rose baby shower feels French!

I’m thinking brie and raspberry phyllo cups or mini quiches with flavors like spinach and feta or mushroom and gruyère.

Caprese skewers with cherry tomatoes, mozzarella pearls, and basil are fresh and colorful, and prosciutto-wrapped melon adds a sweet and savory touch. A small charcuterie board with soft cheeses, cured meats, and fresh berries decorated with dried rose petals can serve as a stunning centerpiece.

Then, add something warm and a little heartier, like grilled chicken with a balsamic glaze that guests can enjoy with simple, crunchy bread.

rose flavored macarons
source: Pinterest

When it comes to dessert, you have to have rose-flavored macarons and some delicate cupcakes. You can also go with one big cake with buttercream frosting and fresh fruit, just make sure it matches the colors and tones of your overall theme.

For party favors, think rose-themed stationery (you can personalize it!), natural rose oils, lip balms, or even cute rose nail stickers.

Dress code for mom: something soft and romantic like a blush or cream dress, delicate jewelry, and rosy makeup with a fresh glow.
